Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water has received quite a bit of attention from bloggers lately, so I started using it to decide for myself. Here’s what I found…
I have been using the Pure Active variant as a make-up remover and cleanser for about a month now and I must say, I can’t imagine not using it as part of my daily routine!
The Pure Active Water is a thin liquid, as the name suggests, like water. It doesn’t have a strong smell – according to the packaging, it is paraben and perfume-free. I have very sensitive skin but had no issues with this product, no burning, no redness.
I normally wear waterproof mascara because I wear contacts and my eyes tend to water a lot, but I am sure all you waterproof-wearing ladies will know – it is never an easy job to get it off! I have been looking for a cleanser that easily removes make-up without having to wipe or pull my skin for so long, I almost feel the need to order this by the palette load in case I run out! I can clearly see the difference this product has made to my skin, especially around my eye area – the skin is much more nourished, less dry and itchy. Less skin pulling = less wrinkled eyes = anti-aging winner.
To be honest, I was surprised how much dirt came off my face when I first started using it – especially in the mornings, when I would normally consider my face to be clean. Eeeuw! Due to this, I might have developed a slight obsession with cleaning my face and I feel incomplete without my Micellar Cleansing Water nearby.
How I use it:
Before I shower:
I remove my make-up with the Micellar Cleansing Water. I usually need a few cotton balls to get rid of all my make-up but it removes everything so easily. Once done I am ready to wash my face in the shower. I find that my skin is so much cleaner doing this and that my moisturiser can absorb into my skin better.
In the mornings:
I wipe my face with the Micellar Cleansing Water before toning and applying moisturiser. There is no need to rinse your face after using the Micellar Water, but I like to splash with some cold water to wake-up and start the morning feeling refreshed.
If you want to give it a try, I would definitely recommend it! It is a very affordable cleanser that works really well – a must have in my beauty bag.
